| If you have wondering about the colored markings on the streets and lawns in the neighborhood lately, it is because Verizon has finally decided to install their fiber optic system, FIOS, in our area. It is supposed to be a state of the art network that provides unprecedented Internet speeds. Although they have not provided a specific date for installation, they have provided notification that they will begin to install the system soon and that we can expect to see them digging and working on utility easements in the very near future. They ask that we mark auxiliary services that we have installed on our property such as invisible pet fences, underground sprinkler systems, private water or sewer lines with temporary flags or signs so that Verizon contractors know the locations of those systems.
